Devon Strafford Little League organizes and supports a number of post-season tournament baseball teams to participate in both Little League International and District 27 tournament play.  Little League Baseball and Softball from Pennsylvania District 27 covers portions of Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.  Home | PA 27 District Little League

It is the intent of Devon Strafford Little League to field competitive teams and provide them the best chance to advance through the tournament.

The selection criteria used will include:

Players can be selected for one tournament team only. For example , a player who is league age 9 can play for either the 9 year old team or the 9-10 year old team, but not both.

All selected players and team rosters will be approved by VP Baseball and President.

Uniforms include a game jersey with name and number, practice shirt, hat, and belt. White pants are purchased by the family due to sizing difficulties.

 

CONTINUOUS BATTING ORDER: All Tournament Teams must adopt a policy of a continuous batting order that will include all players on the team affidavit present at the start of the game, to appear in the batting order. Each player is required to bat in his/her respective spot in the batting order. There is no requirement for the players to play in the field defensively.

As part of the DSLL tournament program, DSLL will be hosting multiple games in multiple tournaments. All tournament players, coaches, and parents will be required to support the program by performing specific hosting duties for tournament games.

                             PA Announcers

                             Scorebook

                             Scoreboard

                             Concessions

Tournament Team Managers will be selected based on a nomination (can be self-nomination) to the VP Baseball with approval of the DSLL Board. Selection criteria will include managing and coaching experience, knowledge of tournament play and rules, recommendation by DSLL membership, commitment and availability, and history of enthusiastic leadership. In addition, those selected need to meet the requirement of having managed or coached at their respective level during the DSLL regular season.

All players selected for tournament team play and their parents will be asked to review and sign a 'Letter of Commitment'. This letter will confirm the time commitment, the competitive nature of tournament baseball, minimum playing time requirements, and volunteer needs.

There will be additional costs associated with participation in the program that include tournament fees and uniforms and other fees that could exceed $200.
