posted 05/17/2012
DSLL would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteer who came out last night to work on Clarke 2! Because of your generosity and hard work, we will be able to hold the Home Run Derby this Saturday! We still have much work to do, and the Board appreciates any and all help to repair the field and have it ready to host the remaining games from this season in addition to the Home Run Derby!
Unfortunately, the fence along the third base line needs to be replaced (again!) and more dirt needs to be trucked in to repair the infield, all at a significant cost to the league. This will come from our general operating budget as insurance will not cover this damage. We ask that everyone consider giving generously during the Home Run Derby to help us defray these unexpected expenses so that we can continue to provide a quality experience for our boys and girls!
Thank you all for your continued support of DSLL!!

On May 20, 2012, the Friends of the Medal of Honor Grove is hosting a community event at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The event, Heroes Day, will add the names of the men who have received the Medal of Honor since 1993 into the Medal of Honor Grove. The Medal of Honor Grove is the oldest memorial dedicated to the Medal of Honor. Heroes’ day will be a reminder to the community that so many people enrich our lives by risking theirs and sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice. We want to honor all our heroes including military, police, fire, teachers and volunteers. The event is open to the public and will be between the hours of 12 noon to 5 pm. The main event and ceremony will be from 2 pm to 3 pm. At this time family members from those who received the Medal of Honor posthumously from the War on Terror will be attending. Also attending will be 6 living MOH recipients from WW II and Vietnam War’s.
The Medal of Honor recipients attending to date are as follows:

Col. Marm
Gen. Livingston

posted 02/25/2011

Make your donation here
We realize that the existing facilities at our home field complex, Clarke, are no longer adequate, and may present potential hazards.
Building a new Pavilion that houses a Snack Shack with covered seating, puts us at par with other leagues, reduces risk, & makes our facilities more comfortable for our families. The new building will also serve as storage for equipment (both for field maintenance, shared equipment & others gear). We’ve enjoyed the benefit of those that came before us who donated and cultivated the field and existing structures. We, to, have contributed to maintaining the fields and structures. We should all be proud of the commitments we’ve made to support the kids, the league, and our contribution to all that goes with it. We’d like to think that we can work towards continuing to help our kids, grandchildren, and future kids that come to the call of “PLAY BALL!”
We ask that we all reach deep for a donation towards the project. We also ask that if you know someone who may be willing to donate please ask them!
-
A commitment for a generous donation for the snack shack / storage pavilion at Clarke Field
-
As a non-profit organization, our donations are tax-deductible
-
The knowledge that we are helping the kids & community for many years
-
Support in any meeting you get or people you require detail from.
THANK YOU!
