Tee Ball Division
Devon Strafford's Tee Ball Division consists of three levels - 4s, 5s, and 6s (coach pitch).
The birthday cut-off dates are August 31 and use the Little League BASEBALL (not SOFTBALL) rules for tee ball. Click here to calculate league age.
The program is open to girls and boys and emphasizes the development of skills and fun for the players and is geared to provide an outlet of healthy activity and training under the leadership of our parents. The goals of the programs are to help establish the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
For 4s, each team will meet on three Saturdays beginning in late April at Grand Slam in Malvern for fun and informative clinics where professional instructors will assist coaches, parents, and players. After the two Saturdays, the coaches and parents are well prepared for the season, which consists of a Saturday morning practice/game at local fields.
For 5s, each team will meet on one Saturday beginning in early April at Grand Slam in Malvern for fun and informative clinics at Grand Slam in Malvern where professional instructors will assist coaches, parents, and players. After the two Saturdays, the coaches and parents are well prepared for the season which will consist of one practice per week and one game on Saturdays at local fields. Weekday practice day is determined by the coach.
For 6s (coach pitch), each team will meet on one Saturday beginning in early April at Grand Slam in Malvern for fun and informative clinics at Grand Slam in Malvern where professional instructors will assist coaches, parents, and players. Afterwards, teams meet for a weekly practice and a Saturday game at local fields. The season generally starts in early April. Players will hit a ball tossed or lobbed by the coach. There is no catcher. If the player has difficulty, the coach can bring out a tee if desired. Players adapt well to the pitched ball after a few practices and games. Weekday practice day is determined by the coach.
The season ends in mid-June.
Players are provided with a tee shirt and hat. Tees, bases, balls, and bats are provided by the league. Players are required to bring a glove and helmet. For equipment recommendations, please click here for baseball/teeball or here for girls playing or will play softball.
Coaching is by parents.
There is an annual training session prior to the season start for parents and coaches only that is highly recommended.
Parents and coaches should indicate coach or teammate preferences when registering.
