2009 Lifetime Achivement Award: Frank Gerolamo

2009 marks Frank's 15th year as a Devon Strafford coach.  He started in 1995 as an Assistant Coach for his oldest, of three, son's team, Frank has coached T-ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors and Juniors. In 2000, 2001 and 2002, he was the head coach for two teams each year (as Frank points out, "one of the many benefits of having more than one son").

Frank coached 6 Tournament teams, including two International teams. In 2002, the Minors team Frank coached won their championship. In 2007, the Majors team he coached won their championship.  Many of the boy's on the team repeated the following year under head coach Scott Born.

Frank has been on the Board for 6 years, serving as Equipment Manager throughout his tenure.  In 2007, Frank was the V.P. for the Boys Majors, and with the assistance of the ever-present Lee McConnell, tended to field maintenance at Clarke.  Frank's committement to DSLL included the entire family.  His wife, Barbara, ran Picture Day for three years and ran the Snack Shack for one year.

Frank estimates that he has coached around 300 kids at one level or another. "Basically that is why I’ve done this. Apart from being able to be with one of my own sons, I've been able to have a (hopefully) positive influence on a lot of kids.  Every year, I learn as much from the kids as they learn from me."  Frank added, "Of course, it is a heck of a lot easier when you get to coach with, and learn from, people like Don MacNeil." Don was recognized in 2008 for his lifetime contributions to DSLL.

Congratulations Frank on a long and successful run with Devon Strafford Little League.
